Snowy Plover Art Contest

Did someone say BIRTHDAY?

June 26th is Orange-Red, Yellow Red’s (OR:YR) 20th birthday!

Fondly called the “Old Man”, this western snowy plover is the oldest on record! To join in the celebration, send a photo of your best and most creative artistic representation of OR:YR. Make sure to include his beautiful bracelets. These 'bracelets' or bands are how scientists are able to tell The Old Man apart from other western snowy plovers.

Submissions will be judged based on four different age categories. Winners will have their art displayed at the Friends of the Dunes Humboldt Coastal Nature Center and win prizes!
