Project Update

Construction is Underway at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center.

Construction is underway for the first phase of the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Phase I includes a renovated center, with radiant heating, public restrooms, ample parking, indoor and outdoor interpretive exhibits and improved access to over 1000 acres of dune trails. This first phase of construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2010. Thanks to community donors, the State Coastal Conservancy and the Wildlife Conservation Board for making it possible to start construction. Funds are still needed to complete this first phase and put us in a position to move into phase II. You can DONATE to the project here.

Hard Hat Tour, August 25, 2010.

Throughout the project, the Wildberries Self-guided trail will remain open. During the renovation phase, visitors will be redirected to interim parking and trailhead location. For more questions about this update, email info@friendsofthedunes.org or call 444-1397.
